I am a qualified psychodynamic Art Psychotherapist, registered with the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT registration 48965) and the Health & Care Professionals Council (HCPC registration AS017742) with a Masters in Art Psychotherapy from Goldsmiths University.  I have done CPD training in narrative therapies, including Embodied Storytelling, linking my previous specialisation as a 2D and stop-motion animator with my therapeutic work.  As an Art Psychotherapist I have experience of working with both children and adults.  I am currently working in primary schools as a Therapy Team Manager and Complex Case Therapist with the charity Unlocking Potential.  Previously I worked with the NHS's East London Foundation Trust (ELFT), supporting adults with complex mental health needs within NHS inpatient and community settings.  As a trainee I worked both within the NHS and in a secondary school with teenagers. 

 

I also have extensive experience of working with children and teenagers from my previous role as an Arts Educator, where I facilitated participatory arts and animation workshops designed to support wellbeing through self-expression.  As an Arts Educator I worked with NGOs both in the UK and internationally, including in Brazil, France, Bolivia and Ecuador.  During the first Covid-19 pandemic I was awarded funding from the UK's Arts Council to facilitate arts workshops online, where I delivered both one-to-one and group sessions.

I have an Advanced Diploma in the Therapeutic and Educational Application of the Arts from the Institute of Arts in Therapy and Education (IATE), which, in combination with my Fine Art (BA) and Animation background (Advanced Diploma) and the CPD training in narrative therapies, equips me to facilitate a range of arts including visual arts, puppets, clay, sand tray, poetry and bodywork.

As an animator I particularly enjoyed working on projects with a social or educational focus.

I also have experience mentoring, both one-to-one for students on the Central St. Martin's Masters in Character Animation and for A-level Art students.  I hold an up-to-date DBS on the online update system.
