Rose Wylie: Quack Quack

I loved the scale and energy of these paintings by Rose Wylie at the Serpentine gallery in London.

Based on memories and scenes from pop-culture, they are pretty bold for a lady born in 1934 (making her 84 this year!)

Wylie paints text into her images, reminding me of Jean-Michel Basquiat, and one particular piece of text caught my eye: "Pick your own colour". This got me thinking about ideas for a personal project...let's see where it leads!
